Finalists – Nanjing Pukou Gateway Sculpture Competition
In 2010 CK Designworks was appointed to produce a master plan for 20 square kilometres of Nanjing City, China and develop concept designs for seven of the main buildings.
CKD invited Monash University Architecture and Design students to submit a design for the Gateway Sculpture to be included as part of the brief.
The Gateway Sculpture will be a prominent visual object. It will project a high tech, sustainable image complementing the philosophy of the “rain flower pebbles” for which Nanjing is known.
The winning applicant will receive $2,000 in addition to having their design included in the project submission.
The designs presented by the following five applicants were selected by CKD and Monash faculty staff to be presented to the Nanjing/Pukou government for judging:
- Jee Wee Ong
- Liam Eastop
- Nataliya Krysiak
- Robert Randell
- Shigeru Iijima.
